Shanti is a
Sanskrit word meaning 'Divine Peace'.
Hindu teachings typically end with the words Om shanti shanti
shanti as in invocation of peace and the mantra is also used to
conclude some Buddhist devotional ceremonies.
Threefold Shanti is generally interpreted as meaning the Threefold
Peace in body, speech and mind....therefore peace in the entirety
of one's being. The lotus flower is also a symbol of peace.
In ancient scripts it is said that the lotus flower rises from
the mud in the ground and is the timeless yogic symbol of shanti.
The lotus flower is not dependant on clear or cloudy water for
growth or external circumstances, but a deep connection to the
eternal essences within.
Peace
is the mental equilibrium that all spiritual aspirants strive
to attain.
