EFT, otherwise known as Emotional Freedom
Technique attracts controversy, credits and curiosity. The
name itself can raise eyebrows of incredulity - is there any
such thing as an Emotional Freedom Technique?

Detlev Tesch, EmoTrance Trainer, explains with
examples and exercises how we can be more sensitive to energy
flow. These are useful techniques for anyone who has problems
identifying the feelings associated with flowing energy, or
for experienced practitioners looking to improve their own
sensitivity. This is the English Language version of the
original article: Wahrnehmungsübungen
für EmoTrance. | |

Phil
Mollon writes: Many of the practitioners who have
become attracted to energy psychology methods in the UK come
from a hypnotherapy background, with relatively few from those
psychotherapeutic approaches that are based on the idea of
‘talking leading to insight’. As a psychoanalyst (and clinical
psychologist), I have over the last few years been concerned
to bridge these fields of knowledge – endeavouring to combine
the deep understandings of psychoanalysis with the rapid
resolution of emotional distress that can be achieved with
energy psychology interventions. Whilst psychoanalysis without
energy techniques can be slow to achieve change, the use of
energy psychology without a depth of understanding may bring
only superficial results. In the case of complex and
multilayered psychological problems, including those that are
sometimes termed ‘personality disorders’, it is important to
draw together as many relevant lines of knowledge and enquiry
as are available. My new book Psychoanalytic Energy
Psychotherapy [PEP] describes in detail some of the
complexities of work with the psycho-somatic-energy system
that is each unique human being.

Acupressure is more effective in reducing lower back
pain than standard physical therapies, a study suggests.
Researchers in Taiwan found the effects of the therapy which
involves applying pressure on points stimulated by acupuncture
lasted for six months. They gave 129 patients six doses of
either acupressure or physical therapy over a month and
compared the results. The study in the BMJ Online also found
those who had acupressure had improved body function and were
less disabled. | |

Peter
Delves writes: "Like many practitioners who work with
energy therapies you may have set up a practice because you
know the fantastic results that can be achieved with these
techniques, and there are thousands of people out there who
you could help. Setting up a practice means setting up a
business. This means that to be successful it’s going to be
beneficial to broaden your expertise beyond your therapeutic
skills. Either that or be prepared to buy in the expertise
that you don’t possess." | |

AMT Practitioner Sarah Bird writes:
“Last year we went out to Pakistan to the earthquake region
and worked for 2 weeks, training 160 doctors, nurses,
paramedics, teachers and community workers and also worked
with 350 schoolchildren still affected by the earthquake. We
taught them the principles of Energy Psychology and then EFT
and TAT. For that work ACEP awarded us the ACEP Humanitarian
award for 2007 at the conference this year.” This is their
online video report entitled "Healing Earthquake Trauma"...

Article by Sandra
Hillawi, Master Herbalist, Colonic Therapist, Trainer in
EFT & EmoTrance: "Our emotions arise as part of our
human response to life experiences. How we respond to life can
also have a direct cause and effect relationship with the
onset and progression of physical symptoms. Understanding how
this mind-body connection works and applying new effective
tools for releasing emotions can often be the key to rapid
healing." This fascinating article by one of the UK's top
MET trainers has also been published in magazines BNJ vol 23
number 3 2006 and Positive Health 134 April 2007.
